Amritsar to Dharamshala Truind Trekking Tour
Day 1: Amritsar
Arrived at Amritsar international airport/ or by train/ or by bus, and there take a taxi to the hotel. In amritsar take a tour Golden Temple and Wagha border ceremony. Night in a hotel.
Day 2: Amritsar – Dharamshala (Mcleod ganj)
In the morning, After breakfast drive to Dharamshala. it takes about 4-5 hours and there are plenty of scenic views on the way. In Dharamshala, you can walk around and go eat in restaurants, and visit Dalai Lama’s home and Temple in Mcleodganj. Briefing for the start of our Trek tomorrow.
Day 3: Mcleod ganj – Triund(2975m) 9Km
In the morning. The track goes through a mixed forest of oak, rhododendron, and deodar trees. The first 2km is a steed ascent but there is a gradual ascent after Galu Devi temple. The last 1 km is again a steep ascent through the forest. Triund is a flat meadow on top of a ridge. From here panoramic view of the Dhauladhar range on one side and Kangra valley on the other is a memorable sight. Night stay in tents.
Day 4: Triund – Lahes Cave(3700m)…7km
In this morning. This is an acclimatization day. After a short ascent from Triund traverse a ridge to reach Laka Got – a temporary shepherd camp. Laka Got is situated at the snout of a small glacier, which is full of snow and ice in early summer and the snow melts away during the monsoon. From Laka Got it is a steep ascent of 2 km over a rocky ridge to reach Lahes cave. Night stay in the cave or comp at Laka Got.
Day 5: Lahes cave – Inderhara pass (4300m) – Laka Got
Start early in the morning, the weather gets bad in the afternoon. In the early summer (April to May) the trail is full of snow and ice and requires good equipment. During post-monsoon (September to November) there is no snow or ice and there is a narrow trail going up to the pass. It takes about three hours to pass and another three hours to come down. From the pass entire Pir Panjal range of the central Himalayas is a sight to behold. Back to Laka Got For Panjal range of central Himalayas is a sight to behold. Back to Laka Got for a night stay.
Day 6: Laka Got – Mcleodganj (Dharamshala) 15km
Follow the same route on the way back or a different one from Triund going over a grassy meadow and descending down to Bhagsu Nag and then to Mcleodganj. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 7: Dharamshala – Amritsar
Book out from the hotel and drive to Amritsar. Rest or go shopping the rest of the day. If you miss the Golden Temple or Wagha border ceremony, now is the time to go and see those. Night in hotel.
Day 8: Amritsar
Book out from hotel and journey continues via plane / train / or bus.
